オリジナルのものより少々ホッピーに仕上げたアルト。ダークフルーツを想わせる奥深い風味に、少々のシトラスを想わせる爽やかなキャラクター、ライ麦パンを想わせる香ばしさ、キャラメル、コンコードグレープの皮の様なフレーバーが感じられる。スムースなマウスフィールと共に柔らかな味わいが口内に広がり、仄かな苦みと共に締めくくられる。豊かな味わいによりどんどん杯が進む至極の一本。
Though the Ratinger Straße back in Düsseldorf has quieted, much as things have here on Coxwell Avenue, we're excited to bring a taste of the Altstad back to Godspeed with Oberkassel Altbier.
Outside of Weizen, Altbier is one of the only traditional top fermented ales left in Germany. Our take on this ancient style leans hoppier than the average Düsseldorfer’s but still sits squarely within the style. Dark fruit and faint but fragrant citrus characterize the delicate nose, while the flavour hints at dark rye bread, caramel, and concord grape skins. Extremely clean and clear, Oberkassel wraps its soft flavours in a firm but friendly bitterness, fading from your palate between sips from your bijou stange. Prost!
