カリフォルニア州サンノゼ出身のオルタナティブポップロックバンドSmash Mouthの1999年の曲「All Star」の歌詞の一節「自ら光ろうとしないと輝くことはないぜ（＝挑戦なくして成功なし）」を引用した名を持つ『You'll Never Shine If You Don't Glow California IPA』。その名の通り、究極のリフレッシュメントと楽しさのために作られた、全く新しいCalifornia IPAだ。淡いストローカラーのボディの上にメレンゲのような軽いフォームが乗る、そのビジュアルからわかる通り、ドイツ産ピルスナーモルトとプレミアムピルスナーモルトによるモルトビルトは非常に無駄がなくスリム、軽さが絶妙でどこまでも飲み心地がリフレッシング。Citra Cryo、Citra、Eclipse、Simcoeという、シトラスにフォーカスを当てた（ほんの少しトロピカルな）極上コンボによりドライホッピングされ、熟したジューシーなオレンジの果肉、各種柑橘類の皮、オレンジの花、グレープフルーツ、タンジェリン、ライム、そして最後にパイナップルのほのかな香りと計算されつくした香りが西海岸への旅へと誘う。アロマ／フレイバー、ボディの軽さとホップ由来の苦み、三者が調和して、最高に爽やかな輝きを放つフィニッシュ。絶品のCalifornia IPA。

SOMEBODY ONCE decided to brew a brand new California IPA that has been crafted for ultimate refreshment and enjoyability. Dry hopped with a luscious combo of Citra, Eclipse and Simcoe. Pouring a light straw colour with a meringue of foam on top, it’s clear just from the visuals that we’ve gone with an ultra lean malt base which is essential for a banging Cali IPA. This beer is all about the citrus (and a little bit of pineapple as well), but citrus steals the show. This beer will take you on a journey of ripe, juicy orange flesh, citrus peel, orange blossom, grapefruit, tangerine, lime and then that hint of pineapple rolls through right at the end. Citrus bitterness blends with hop bitterness to provide a super refreshing finish, leaving you wanting more. This beer has layers, kind of like an onion.
