Rye on Rye is a very limited release from the series of one-time beers we make as we grow as a brewery.
The number 200 indicates the number of batches of beers we made until the time we brew the beer - every time we reach 100, we make a special beer to celebrate. They are usually barley wines that we put in barrels, where they sit until we feel they are ready.
For the batch 200, however, we made a rye wine - a heavy beer that contains rye and barley malts. The beer has been later sitting in Knob Creek Rye Whiskey barrels for more than a year.
The result is an interesting version of a barley wine with spicy notes from both the malted rye as well as the barrels.
