ホップ由来のベリー感と、熟したメロンの香りを楽しめるエール。

今回、主役のホップはHüll MelonとMosaic。Hüll Melonはその名のとおり、熟したメロンのような香りが特徴的なホップ。これに、トロピカルフルーツやベリーといった香りを持つMosaicを重ねることで、香りに広がりを持たせました。グラスを傾けると、Mosaic由来のベリーを感じさせるニュアンスと、セゾンイースト由来のスパイシーな香り。口に含めば、HüllMelon由来の蜜を含んだ熟したメロンのような味わいが感じられます。また、Hallertau　Blancの持つ白ブドウ感と清涼感が喉を駆け抜け、果実感を伴った爽やかな苦味が余韻として残ります。ゆっくりと飲んでいただければ、様々な香りが開いていくのを感じられ、よりこのビールを楽しんでいただけることと思います。

ちなみに、ベルギー発祥のビール酵母（セゾンイースト）に、最近のアメリカンIPAによく使われるホップをかけ合わせたホッピーなセゾンがこの『アメリカン・ベルゴスタイル・エール』と分類されています（米国Brewers AssociationのBeer Style Guidelinesより）。セゾンイーストの醸す香りとホップの味わいの組み合わせを楽しめるこのスタイル、奈良醸造でも何度もトライしてきました。

奈良醸造の定番商品のひとつ”Function”もこのスタイルですが、また別のホップの組み合わせの系譜で、これまで”Pascal”、”Axis”、”Angle”、 ”Oval”といったビールを造ってきました。今回の”Prism”は、それらを踏襲した、Functionとは異なる系譜に連なるビールになります。

A hoppy Saison, fermented by Saison yeast with hops commonly used in American IPA, is classified as an "American Belgo-Style Ale" according to the Beer Style Guidelines of the Brewers Association in the United States. Nara Brewing has explored this style multiple times to savor the combination of Saison yeast's aroma and the taste of hop. . In this iteration, the spotlight is on Hüll Melon and Mosaic hop. Hüll Melon, true to its name, features a distinctive aroma reminiscent of ripe melon. Layering this with Mosaic, known for its tropical fruit and berry scents, adds breadth to the aroma. Tilt the glass, and you'll feel nuances of Mosaic-derived berries and the spicy fragrance from the Saison yeast. When you take a sip, you'll experience the taste of ripe melon with the honeyed touch of Hüll Melon. The white grape character and freshness of Hallertau Blanc race through the palate, leaving a refreshing bitterness with a fruity feel lingering in the aftertaste.
