The origin of it starts with Mikkeller’s most famous beer: Beer Geek Breakfast! If you need reminding, it’s an oatmeal stout with a high amount of oats giving it a soft velvety (see where we’re going with this?) mouthfeel. Well, Velvet Pilsner is the best of two worlds. One of Mikkel’s favourite styles - pilsner - combined with the secret that helped make Beer Geek Breakfast a Mikkeller classic.
