これは来たるべき日に備え、世代を超えた師弟コンビが修行に明け暮れていた頃の数年前……。「何かを成し遂げるには、基礎を疎かにしてはいけない」——それが、師匠6代目の口癖である。

師Alchemistが基礎的なホップ術式を唱え、弟子もそれに呼応した。その刹那——空が割れ、真紅の雷鳴が地上を貫いた。

次の瞬間、マシマシに増幅されたホップが空間を包み、制御不能なホップエネルギーが解き放たれる。未熟な弟子が唱えた術式の暴走を目の当たりにした師匠は、即座に訓練を中止した。異常な力の奔流に、若きAlchemistはその場に立ち尽くし、肩で息をしていた。

「この身体のどこに、そんな力があるというのだ……」

落ち着きを取り戻した師匠は、少年の内に、ただならぬ覇気が潜んでいることを確信した。あのホップの暴走は、偶然では片付けられない。修行を終えた師Alchemistは、胸騒ぎを覚えながら、重い足取りでHop Libraryへと向かうのだった。

ドライホップで使用したManilitaやLuminosa由来と思わせる黄桃のような甘い果実感。さらにCitraの明るい柑橘の印象が加わり、ほのかな苦みも良い塩梅に。柔らかな甘さと口当たりのなめらかさで、さらなる飲み心地の良さを追求へ。

He had been mentoring for some time--but had never seen a talent quite like this. The retired 6th generation of our FHA had always kept a close eye on our newly-minted #10, through trials and lessons, short field trips beyond the borders and other adventures. But it was one day during a routine lupulin conjuration that our young prodigy showed something remarkable. To the untrained eye it may have looked like a young aspiring Hop Dude simply pumping up the lupulin--but our mentor knew it to be much, much more.

FHA r2 is the second installment in our Relaunched Full Hop Alchemist series, where every new concoction shares a similar base with the original, but contains a different blend of lupulin varieties (with numerous tweaks made along the way). r2 doesn't disappoint, with box-loads of Luminosa, Citra CRYO, Peacharine and Manilita == huge tropical aromas of pineapple and mango followed by bright citrus / grapefruit feels (your mileage is likely to vary). We aimed for this version to be a little more on the drinkable side (?!), the body is toned down just a smidge and the slightly higher carbonation gives a fist bump to the gentle bitterness and mild sweetness on the finish.
