世界的なサワービールのフラッグシップと言っても過言ではない、BFMを代表するストロング・サワー・エール。「ボンシェン」とは日本語訳で「かわいい犬」の意味。でもラベルには猫？これはBFMの醸造所で買われていた猫、「Bon‐Chien」（＝かわいい犬）のために醸造されたから。アンバー色に輝くこのビールは、ワインやスピリッツに使われていたオーク樽に数ヶ月熟成され、その過程でビールに複雑な味わいを加える。ワインのフルーティーな味わいと、それとともに際立った酸味が感じられる、ビールとは思えないサプライズが詰まったビール。
Abbaye de Saint Bon-Chien is BFM’s flagship beer and one of the most legendary strong sour ales there is. The name “Bon-Chien” means “good dog”, so you might wonder why there’s a cat on the label… and the reason is that the beer is named after BFM’s brewery cat, “Bon-Chien”! The base beer is an amber ale which is then aged in oak barrels for several months, which gives the beer its complexity. Fruity and wine-like with a decent amount of tartness.
