his barley wine was aged in freshly emptied maple syrup barrels from Canada (that had previously been used to age bourbon), and is set apart from it’s sibling beers Paragon 2021 & Off the Rack Paragon Rum barrel by it’s much sweeter body. This plays brilliantly with the obvious maple flavours imparted by the barrels as well as classic barley wine notes of treacle, prunes, marzipan, spices and vanilla with oak flavours lingering in the background.
