ソーヴィニョン・ブラングレープで発酵させてオーク樽熟成を施したグレープエール。ベースビールをまずカルベネフラングレープで発酵させ、その後ソーヴィニョンブランを用いて再発酵させた。ストロベリーやグーズベリーを想わせるジューシーなフレーバー、シトラシーな爽快さが感じられる。きりっとした口当たり共にフルーティーな程よい酸味が口内に広がる。豊かな味わいを持ちながら非常にドリンカブルに仕上がった。
Vines is a series of oak aged wild ales that celebrates wine grapes in all manifestations.
Each batch is blended based on the grape varietal at hand, and fermented based on the state those grapes are in (whole cluster, de-stemmed, lightly pressed skins, etc.). The result is a unique collection of beers that incorporate wine grapes in all forms, and showcase process as much as ingredients.
Vines Sauv Blanc was initially fermented on Cab Sauv grapes and then refermented on Sauv Blanc, which gives the beer its rosy orange hue, as well as its jammy strawberry backbone. Fruity aroma with flavours of strawberry, gooseberry and citrus fruit. Oaky with good tannins, moderate acidity and healthy carbonation make this complex yet very drinkable.
