昨日ご紹介した「Eurus」と対をなす二つ目のラガー、Zephyr。
DD4Dさん　@dd4d_official とのやりとりの中で「せっかくなら愛媛らしさを」と柑橘を取り入れることになりました。
仕込当日には柑橘の皮サンプルを持ち込んでもらい、皆で香りを比べながらブレンドを決定。
その瞬間から、完成が楽しみで仕方なかった一杯です。

龍は運ぶ、西より薫る果実を。
愛媛の柑橘をブレンドして漬け込み、やわらかな香りを纏わせた西風のラガー。
穏やかな西風のように心地よく、柑橘の華やかな香りがふわりと広がります。
鮮やかな風味をお楽しみください。

今回はせとか・伊予柑・タロッコの3種の柑橘の皮をブレンドしました。
タロッコは初めて知りましたが、ブラッドオレンジの一種とのこと。
他にも複数のサンプルを比べましたが、それぞれの香りの違いに驚かされました。
最終的には、うっとりするような甘い香りを軸に、爽やかで酸味を期待させる香り、そして少しハーブやスパイスを思わせる香りを組み合わせ、重層感のある香りに仕上げました。
まるで香水を調合しているようで、とても楽しい時間でした。
こちらのZephyrも、けやきひろばビール祭り（9/19〜23）で先行開栓、9/25からは缶販売が始まります。

Four Winds Dragon -Zephyr-
The second lager that pairs with yesterday’s “Eurus” is Zephyr.
During our collaboration with DD4D, we wanted to add something truly “Ehime,” so we decided to use local citrus.
On brew day, they brought us samples of citrus peels, and together we compared the aromas to decide on the blend.
From that moment, we couldn’t wait to see the result.

Style: American Light Lager w/ Ehime Citrus
ABV: 4.5%
The dragon carries fruit, borne on the western wind.
A lager infused with a blend of Ehime citrus peels, wrapped in a soft fragrance like a gentle breeze.
Delight in the bright, layered aroma that unfolds with each sip.

We used a mix of Setoka, Iyo-kan, and Tarocco (a type of blood orange).
Other varieties were tested as well, each with surprisingly distinct aromas.
In the end, we built a layered blend: sweet and lush, balanced with fresh, tangy, and subtly herbal notes.
It felt like composing a perfume — an enjoyable process in itself.
Zephyr will debut first at the Keyaki Beer Festival (Sept 19–23), followed by can release on Sept 25.
