Ahh, the golden stout. Light in color, heavy in WTF. Here’s the secret: this beer is blonde because it’s brewed without roasted barley. But take a sip, and it is a stout through and through. So what gives? Rolled oats produce a smooth and creamy mouthfeel, while roasted flavors of sweet chocolate and espresso are thanks to the addition of vanilla beans, cocoa nibs, and coffee. And that’s where our caffeinated friends at Bird Rock Coffee Roasters come in.
