Collaboration!

オーストラリア・シドニーのOne Dropクルーは、今年の春にWCBのDerrekとGrantが訪れたニュージーランドで出会い、現地のホップファームを共に巡った同志たち。(その場で意気投合し、そのままニュージーランドからシドニーへ弾丸でブルワリー訪問した思い出も……)

同じ志を持って歩むからこそ、海を越えた友情がもたらす新たな技術に刺激的なレシピ。今回は、彼らが5月に本国でリリースしたWCBコラボ『Yūjō』を経て、One Dropから伝授してもらった"Clean Fusion™”製法をWCB的に踏襲した『Southern Legends』が遂に完成へ！

ビールをクリーンな状態にしてからドライホップすることで、ホップのアロマとフレーバーを効果的に引き出す製法によりパワーアップは必至？！

WCBのブルワー曰く「めちゃダンク！」。さらに青草や白ブドウを感じるアロマ。松・樹脂・青草・白ワインを連想させる、青々しい清涼感あるホップフレーバーには、微かにグレープフルーツのニュアンスも。ミディアムボディながらキレのある飲み口で、しっかりとした苦みとホップの青っぽさが口いっぱいに広がっていく。

Aren’t collabos rad? The Hop Dude hooked up with our friends at One Drop in Sydney to bring you something literally out-of-this-hemisphere. Southern Legends is a Cold IPA with a decidedly profane twist on dry hopping, using a technique they coined “Clean Fusion”. The idea behind this is pretty simple - some additional steps that in theory extract the maximum effect from late hop additions. Without going into great detail, pop a can of this and check that aroma. It is MASSIVE. Strong. Dank. Punchy. Add more hyped adjectives because literally they all come into play. “Clean Fusion” gave us something far greater than our usual experience with dry hopping, and we are super stoked on it. Look for this technique to feature again in brews going forward—but for now enjoy this one while it lasts, yet another reason to love craft beer and the community we have.
