Tropical Pale is unlike any beer we’ve ever released before at Breakside.
It began as one of our Freestyle Friday ideas, a foray into the outer perimeter of the world of hops and a chance to test out new ideas. We combined modern West Coast hops with a clean base pale ale and some hop-derived terpenes to create a beer that combines underlying dank notes with strong tropical fruit flavors. We get huge notes of white grapefruit, pineapple, tangerine, guava, and passionfruit.
This is not the Pale Ale that Gen Xers and Millennials grew up with. No baggy mait or unwanted bitterness, no interferant caramel or grassy flavors.
This isn’t a beer that you need to “learn to appreciate.” We believe that when you want to indulge and enjoy a beer, the beer should meet that moment.
