新作ビールMingleのご紹介です！ニュージーランド産ホップが詰まった6.5% ABVのHazy IPAです。

今回のバッチでは、ニュージーランド産ホップのみを使用しました。ホップ農家でありニュージーランドのホップ産業の創始者の一人であるブルース・エッグス氏にちなんで名付けられた「ザ・ブルース」というホップブレンドです。ザ・ブルースは、彼の元農場で栽培されていたネルソン・サヴィン、モトゥエカ、ラカウのブレンドで、これらは過去の数々のビールで私たちが気に入って使用してきたホップです。今年はザ・ブルースから、シトラス、ライム、マンゴー、アプリコットの風味が感じられます。このブレンドに、ネルソン・サヴィンホップから抽出された濃縮ホップオイルを追加しました。このオイルはネクタリンとトロピカルフルーツの風味が特徴です。まず最初にネクタリンとアプリコットの香り、その後には柑橘系の風味が感じられます。

Mingleは、通常の Hazy IPAよりも少し濃い色合いかもしれません。これは、より長い煮沸時間によるものです。そのため、ビールが少し濃くなり、麦芽の風味がより際立ち、ビスケットやトーストのような風味を引き出しています。

Our latest version of hazy IPA is ready! Mingle is a 6.5% ABV hazy packed with New Zealand hops.

For this batch we decided to use only New Zealand hops. We used a yearly blend called The Bruce which was named after hop farmer, Bruce Eggers, who is one of the founders of the New Zealand hop industry. The Bruce is a blend of Nelson Sauvin, Motueka and Rakau from his former farm which are all hops we have used and enjoyed in previous beers. This year The Bruce delivers citrus, lime, mango, and apricot flavors. To this blend we also added a concentrated hop oil from Nelson Sauvin hops that has a nectarine and tropical fruit flavor. To us it feels like the nectarine and apricot aromas are strongest with citrus flavors coming through later in the sip.

Mingle may seem a little darker than our usual hazy IPA. This is due to a longer boiling time. This longer boil darkened the beer a bit and gave it a little more maltiness, bringing out a biscuit or toast flavor.
