Double Dog is a Double IPA style beer , where the word double indicates a more intense and high-alcohol version. Hence the fear that it is an excessively alcoholic and bitter beer, but from the first sip you immediately understand how smooth and soft it is. Just like an English bulldog.
Golden beer, with copper-colored reflections, it is clear and has a persistent white head.
The aromas are intense, tropical, released by the Dry Hopping of Idaho7, Mosaic and Simcoe, which give deep notes of pineapple, lychee, apricot pulp and orange peel.
The drink is equally intense, rounded, the high alcohol content is balanced by the notes of flowering Simcoe and Citra hops, which also contribute to softening the important bitter component.
Double Dog is named after the English bulldog that inspired the brewer to make this recipe one sleepless night, suggesting that the beer should be not just an IPA, but a Double IPA!
