モントリオールのブルワリー、Isle de Gardeとのコラボで造られたデュンケル。ヘーゼルナッツやカリカリに焼けたパンの耳を想わせる香ばしいキャラクター、そしてミルクチョコレートを彷彿とさせるまったりとした風味が感じられる。少々のホッピーさがアクセントとなりつつ、モルトの芳醇な味わいが口内を優しく包み込み、最後はスッキリとした苦みと共にドライに締めくくられる。

We brewed this German-style Dunkel lager with our friends at Isle de Garde in Montreal. We’ve been big fans of their beers for years, so it was great to have them out here to talk brewing and make something together.

Dunkel Hour is clear chestnut brown with a fluffy light tan foam. There’s a touch of hop aroma up front, but this beer is all about malt, with biscuity and nutty notes on the nose. Dry and smooth on the palate, with low bitterness and layered malt flavours of hazelnut, bread crust, and milk chocolate. Medium carbonation keeps it balanced and easy drinking. A tasty, malty, nutty brown beer you can happily swig on.
