軽くてリッチなココナッツスタウト / A light-bodied yet richly flavored Coconut Stout

名前について / About the Name

特に深い意味はなくて響きの良さでつけました
スタウトのBlackとサーフワックスのWaxです

There's no particularly deep meaning behind the name, we simply liked the way it sounded. It's a combination of "Black" from the stout's dark color and "Wax" from surfboard wax.

造りかた / How It's Made

Hazy IPA程度の甘さを残す(Brix 4.5)ことで、深いローストとカラメルとのバランスをとることを狙いました。
ローストモルトを使いすぎて飲みづらくならないように、ローストモルトエクストラクトも使って濃い黒い色付をしています。
ココナッツファインはローストして、酵母を落として清澄したあとのビールに浸漬させています。

We aimed to balance the deep roasted and caramel malt character by leaving a level of residual sweetness similar to that of a Hazy IPA (around 4.5 Brix).

To avoid the beer becoming overly harsh or difficult to drink from excessive roasted malt, we also used roasted malt extract to achieve its deep black color while keeping the roast character smooth and approachable.

The shredded coconut was toasted and then steeped in the beer after the yeast had been dropped and the beer clarified.

ココナッツ、糖蜜、ダークチョコレート、深煎りコーヒー、ラムのキャラクターが、麦芽の甘さにのってリッチなフレーバーを感じます。4.9%のアルコールですが、インペリアルスタウトのようにリッチなフレーバーです。
ガスボリュームは2.2GVで、心地よいマウスフィールで仕上げています。

Layers of coconut, molasses, dark chocolate, deeply roasted coffee, and rum-like character rest on a foundation of malt sweetness, creating a rich and complex flavor profile.

Although it comes in at just 4.9% ABV, it delivers a richness reminiscent of an Imperial Stout.

The beer is carbonated to 2.2 volumes of CO₂, giving it a smooth and balanced mouthfeel.
