【Tasting Comment】
グラスからは、レモンピールやグレープフルーツを思わせる明るい柑橘の香りが立ち上がり、
松脂のようなシャープでクリーンなアロマ、そしてほのかにダンクなニュアンスが重なります。

口に含むと、鮮烈なシトラスとトロピカルのアロマが広がり、
続いて松の樹皮のような清涼感としっかりとした苦味が輪郭を形づくります。
8％のアルコールがもたらす重厚感がボディを支えながらも、仕上がりはあくまでドライ。

余韻にはグレープフルーツの白皮のような苦味と松脂の清らかさが長く伸び、
飲みごたえとキレの良さが同居する、のろし醸造らしいWest Coast IPAです。

【Brewer’s Comment】

今回の West Coast IPA では、クリアで透き通った印象と、
スタイルの特徴でもあるしっかりとした苦味の両立を意識しています。

—初めて Green Flash の West Coast IPA を飲んだ時のあの衝撃。
“こんなにもクリアで、こんなにも香りが鮮明なIPAがあるのか” と胸が震えた、
まさに 自分のビール人生の青春 と言える瞬間でした。
その体験は、現在の自分が West Coast IPA をつくる上での方向性に強く影響しています。
Chuck Silva さん、ありがとうございます。

また、昔の West Coast IPA に見られた粗さのある苦味ではなく、
よりクリーンで後味が整った現代的な苦味 を目指しました。

透明感を高めるため、タンク内で時間をかけて清澄化を行っています。
冷えた状態ではタンパク質由来のチルヘイズが出る場合がありますが、
温度が上がるにつれて透明度は戻り、ホップアロマもより鮮明に感じられます。

ホップは Amarillo・Citra・Mosaic・Motueka・CTZ を組み合わせ、
柑橘・松・ダンク・トロピカルのキャラクターがバランス良く表れるように設計しました。
West Coast IPA らしいしっかりとした苦味を保ちつつ、
8％を重く感じさせないドライさとクリアな後味を意識した仕上がりです。

【Tasting Comment】

Bright citrus aromas reminiscent of lemon peel and grapefruit rise from the glass,
layered with a sharp, clean pine resin aroma and a subtle hint of dark notes.

On the palate, vivid citrus and tropical aromas expand,
followed by a refreshing pine bark-like sensation and a firm bitterness that shapes the profile.
The 8% alcohol provides a substantial weight supporting the body, yet the finish remains distinctly dry.

The finish lingers with grapefruit pith-like bitterness and the purity of pine resin,
a West Coast IPA that embodies both drinking satisfaction and crispness—truly characteristic of Noroshi Brewing.

For this West Coast IPA, we focused on achieving both a clear, transparent impression
and the robust bitterness that defines the style.

—That shock when I first tasted Green Flash's West Coast IPA.
My heart raced thinking, “An IPA this clear, this aromatically vivid?”
It was truly a defining moment in my beer journey.
That experience profoundly shapes how I approach brewing West Coast IPAs today.

We also aimed for a modern bitterness—clean and well-balanced on the finish—
rather than the harsh bitterness found in older West Coast IPAs.

To enhance clarity, we take time for clarification in the tank.
Chill haze from proteins may appear when cold,
but clarity returns as the temperature rises, allowing the hop aromas to shine through more vividly.

We combined Amarillo, Citra, Mosaic, Motueka, and CTZ hops,
carefully designed to express balanced citrus, pine, dank, and tropical character.
While maintaining the robust bitterness characteristic of a West Coast IPA,
we focused on achieving a dryness and clear finish that prevents the 8% ABV from feeling heavy.
